Websites are making a difference in education for students. The Internet provides some wonderful resources to help students learn. This week’s article looks at some websites that give help in ways that some people think encourages cheating and undermines learning. Go to the link below and read the article. Write a reflective comment that shows you have read the article, expresses your views, and addresses my questions. Note that I expect more from you than just answering my questions to get full credit.
When you go to college, will you use one of the sites mentioned in the article? If so, how will you use it? What features of these websites do you think are ethical? Which features should be removed? Respond to the following quotation: “Part of what’s valuable about homework is that it gives you a safe space to practice and struggle.” Should homework be graded?

I don’t know if I will use any of those sites when I go to college, when the time comes I will know if I need to use them or not. If so, I will use it to help me focus on specific points of a subject. I think these websites help with narrowing a person’s material required. The answers to the questions should be removed but they should include examples to help out. Homework should not be graded since it is considered to be practice.
I think that there is a possibility that I will use some of these sites since I would like to check my homework with other people and figure out the exact procedure to get that answer. I think that most of the documents that are placed on the sites are ethical except for exams and essays since that seems too much like cheating and wouldn't help me study for that class. I think that the exams and essays should be removed since most teachers already hint what type of essay you could have and most teachers reuse exams and posting exams on-line seems too much like cheating. I personally don't think that the answers of the homework should be graded, but what should be graded is the fact that the student did do the homework and made an attempt at it and even though some answers are wrong, that shouldn't count against the student.

Obviously, when I feel like I can’t catch up some academic courses being lectured in my college, I will use those websites to facilitate my learning. I’m using Sparknotes already for my English class and the site provides me with very thorough analysis of some literary art works that we are currently reading. It is incredibly effective than just plodding the book over night and understanding nothing. Displaying previous tests of different courses is still ethical although providing answers with it might exceed the limitations. Answers should be removed for the sake of people who cannot discipline themselves enough to stop them from copying. I agree with the quotation above since I always have felt that doing class assignments helps my comprehension of the course and reviews what I have learned automatically. Homework should be graded since it reflects the effort that you exert both during class and after class.
To be honest, I would use one of those sites mentioned in the article. One site that I’m pretty sure to use is SparkNotes. SparkNotes gives people the whole synopsis of the book, also with summary for each chapter in the book. I find it very useful. I believe this kind of feature is acceptable and ethical. I also liked the feature mentioned in the article that offers real-time help for the students by the professors. However, I found posting previous tests and their solution to be unethical. Although one can claim that it is teacher’s duty to not to give the same tests all the time, teachers cannot obviously come up with new questions all the time. I agree with the quote saying that homework gives students a chance to practice and struggle. If grading homework becomes a trouble because of these sites that show step-by-step solutions, then teachers can grade the homework based on the effort done by a student. This might be better solution in the future, if all the students use such sites to help studying.
I can see myself using some of these sites when I get to college. I do not believe in cheating, but I can use some of these sites as resources to check if my answers are correct, or to see if I understand a certain book. The part that is ethical is the fact that you can receive help online, whenever you need it. You can have a better resource for learning, and it can give you a different point of view on a topic, other than yours. However, some sites have the ability to let you print pre-made/example essays. If you use this, it is considered plagiarism, and should never be used for such purposes, and sites with this feature should remove it. “Part of what’s valuable about homework is that it gives you a safe space to practice and struggle.” I think that this is true in life itself, but in school, the grades are the things that matter. School has just become a struggle to get an “A”, and not learn anything. This applies to life and not school. No, homework should not be graded. I love learning, but in a school environment. I love reading the news, learning about new instruments, finding out about things I don’t know about.
I do not know if I will use these sites when I go to college, but it is possible. I would use these sites to get homework answers. I think it is almost all ethical, because it helps students do better. I believe none of it should be removed. I think this quotation has a point, and since this quotation has a point homework should only be checked for completion. I did not know that there were sites like this till now, and this shows me the tools I will have in college. LAST BLOG FINALLY
I have no idea if I will use one of the sites mentioned in the article, but if so I will use it to understand some specific points. Although I do use Spark Notes for my English classes, but some features are ethical for example: Including tests which might exceed the limitations in my opinion. Some features should be removed like answers and cheats which might help students to plagiarize. My respond to the quote that is talking about grading home works, teachers shouldn’t grade them but consider them as practice.
I don't think that I will ever use any site like those. If I do I will use it to study for a test more productively. It could be a better way to save time. I think their sites will help them narrow down the amount of study time and it will help them to learn faster. Personally, I do not think that homework should be graded because it should just be practice work for the exam.
Yes, when I go to college, inshallah, I will use one of these sites. I will use them for research on specific things/topics. In my opinion these websites simplify research for students so they don't have to waste their time researching 80 different sites of which 50% they won't need.
I think direct answers should be removed but examples should be provided so the student can use their creativity to present their own assignments. Homework should be graded, unlike classwork, it is an assignment done in your own time of thinking.
When I go to collage I will certainly use these sites. But I will be sure to use them carefully and thoughtfully. These sites narrow down the material required. Why read the whole chapter when all you need is one page? I think it makes life easier; we’re not going to remember everything we read in collage all we need is to pass the exam. Life is short, why waste it reading things that you’re not going to remember or use in the exam? But the answers to the questions should be removed because then no one would work and then it’s just pointless. And finally no, homework should not be graded; it’s just for practice and if it had to be graded it should be over completion.
