There quite many reasons, but the main reason is the Internet. The Internet has completely dominated the newspaper industry for a couple of reasons, which in include the fact that’s its for free and its live. In order to increase their print circulation, the newspaper industry needs to offer something the Internet doesn't, things such as rewards and occasional bonuses for buying the newspaper. Should be a nice boost for the company. The strategy will gain the company sure fame and recognition. Eventually as technology advances, I believe newspapers will no longer be needed. There are ways more advanced and faster ways to keep up with the daily news. Such as receiving text messages on your cell phone, telling you what’s latest in the news. The mission of a newspaper is to inform facts and unbiased points of views of events occurring across the globe. Newspapers should aim for all audiences; they should include a section for sports, politics and entertainment. Therefore when doing so, they can expect all ages and genders to want to read the newspaper. By doing so, the newspaper should be able to make a hefty profit and a strong stand in the newspaper industry.

I think that the main reason for the shrinking circulation of news papers is because of the internet. It is definetly a lot more convenient and easier than carrying around a newspaper. They could increase their circulation by making their newspapers cheaper so that they will be worth purchasing. I think that the companies strategy is a very good one. It is nice to be able to have an actual newspaper if you are on the go, but it is also nice to be able to read a newspaper online. I think that in the near future newspapers will no longer exist and they will be replaced by only online newspapers. I think that the missions of newspapers should be to make their newspapers online newspapers, which also saves paper. I believe that the main audience of a newspaper are people between the ages of 40 and 60.

I think the shrinking circulation of newspapers is because people are receiving the news in many different ways such as: on the internet, or they subscribe on the internet to receive daily news, or they simply watch TV, and probably the main cause in my opinion is because people are becoming lazy these days and don't want to bother reading the newspaper when they can just turn on the TV and watch it for free. I think in order to increase the print circulation they should make their newspapers more interesting and brief because people get bored reading the papers.
I think that the company's strategy is a very good one because it can enable people to read the same thing on the paper and online when they can't get hold of the newspaper. I don't think that the strategy will affect the world in general because not all countries can afford having the same thing. So I think the company’s newspaper's missions should be making their newspapers cheaper, and have the exact same copy everyday online so people can read and benefit for free. I think that the companies should focus on news that interests old people because they are probably the only ones that actually read the newspapers.

As the technology increased over the ten years, the demand for newspapers has been decreasing. The cause for the shrinking circulation of newspapers is due to technology such as internet, radio, and cell phone. The newspaper can put various graph or colored image to attract their customers. I believe that Capital Times’ strategy that combines Web-based and weekly print publications is pretty smart because it solves the shrinking circulation of newspapers.

Well, it would not immediately affect the newspaper around the world, but people will start to use more than now. The mission of newspaper should be to deliver accurate and fast news to the public. The newspapers main audience should be adults because they are the one who reads most of the time.

The internet is way better than newspapers because it is faster and it is free and it has the best sources available. The way they can increase printing is to offer something the internet doesn't. The strategy will have fame. Newspapers around the world will go out of business because no one buys them.Newspapers should focus on older people who don't know how to use the internet.

I think that the circulation of newspapers is shrinking because more and more people are using other resources such as: television, online news, or they simply don't care about what going on in the world. They could increase the print circulation possibly by making newspapers more decorative or colorful. Also, I think they should make the stories and paragraphs more widespread throughout the paper. The human brain absorbs more if the eye sees space and if things are spread out. The fact that Capital Times’ is publishing the news on the Internet and on newspapers is a pretty good strategy. They get to see which way the people like better which can lead to the elimination of either the internet strategy or the newspaper depending on which is more liked. I think that the mission of the newspaper should be to be open to new ideas and to listen to what the people like more: either the newspaper or the Internet. The core audiences that newspapers focus on, I think, are people from the age of 35-60.

No doubt that the cause for shrinking circulation of newspapers is the internet. I think that people would personally prefer to just wake up in the morning, open up their computer and go to whatever site and read the news live and in their home, without having to get out and buy a newspaper. I personally don’t read newspapers but I would if they had many different types of information and some games. What would help the increase of print circulation is if newspapers would include some brain teasers or a Sudoku game or some cool facts about anything. Basically newspapers should write things that people want to read and are enjoying their time reading it. Interesting things cause people to keep buying newspapers. The Capital Times' strategy will increase fame and popularity. More people would be interested in purchasing I think. It is a good strategy that for sure would help. Eventually in a few years, or maybe even a decade, newspapers will cease to exist anymore. People will start depending on technology and its ways. People can now even receive emails of news, text messages of news, on the internet they can access the news, and a great and the most preferred source for news is Television. People prefer high-tech stuff like digital news or live news; all this is way more interesting to them than some recycled newspaper. The mission of newspapers is to figure out ways it can overdo the other choices of technological ways that provide news. There is no one "core audience". The newspaper company will never know who is buying their newspapers. It can be children, women, old people, young people, etc. Because of that, the core audience for the newspaper should be everyone.

The internet is the sole cause for the shrinking circulation of newspapers. The internet is easily accessible from anywhere at any time. It also offers countless websites and sources for news. I personally would rather go online to read the news rather than bother myself with buying a paper. I’m also a tree hugger. I’m really against the millions of papers that go out everyday all around the world. Imagine all the different types of news papers that are at least 20 pages each, that are printed everyday all around the world. That’s a lot of tree killing! Newspapers try to increase their print circulation by putting in a lot of ad’s and competitions and prizes to attract people. However, I think that paper news papers should not be printed anymore since news is available on the internet in words, pictures, and videos. Newspapers should target everyone in general, which is what they do already. They have a section for politics, a section for sports, a section for crosswords and comics, a section for entertainment, and so on. Since all of these things are also available online, I really see no point to printing newspapers anymore; it’s become a waste of valuable resources.

I think that the main problem is that the “internet generation” is finally growing up. This basically means that the people that grew up with the evolution of the internet prefer internet use over newspaper use. Unlike the people who grew up with newspapers, today’s generation find the internet to be the fastest and most reliable form of communication. I think that a slow transition from paper to web prints is the best way to go. A quick switch to internet articles can be a bad move. I think that the Capital Times’ strategy is a great strategy because like I stated before, it gives the readers some time to adjust to this change in the way the readers receive the news. I really don’t think that newspapers will be a forgotten item of the past. Whatever happens, I think that newspapers are now part of our culture as humans. Like the television and radio, they give us a quick glance at the world around us. Even though people might prefer internet articles, newspaper articles are still going to be a minor part of some people’s lives. Newspapers around the world should strive to bring their audiences the most direct, clear, and honest news coverage they can offer. I think that newspapers should focus on a wide range of people and not focus on one specific audience. Personally, I think they should focus on the old people because they are the ones that have been reading the newspapers since their early adult lives.

I blame the internet. I love it. I get all my news from here. From specific news sites that fit the bill. Like, I won't go to Newsweek for my daily science news buzz. But then I won't go to slashdot.org for politics. The fact that each site is specific is what makes the internet so great. You can look up the information from people who KNOW what they are talking about rather than just writing a report. I see the fact that they killed their paper part so they can pursue a greater role and manage their money better. They won't have to waste money on printing, rather they can focus their efforts on making note-worthy reports. Not just that, they can target a wider audience. I mean, we can read it if we want rather than have to fly an 18 hour flight to get there an buy the newspaper.

I think that the shrinking circulation of newspapers is happening because most people prefer to see the news on t he Internet or on TV. That way it is easier. Reading a news paper I very dull because of the dark colors and the tiny letters. They can increase the circulation by making it a little bit more colorful and by enlarging the text. I think that their strategy is really good, by that way they see what the people are more into, then they would work on that part really well. I think that newspapers will eventually go away, because of all the new technologies, like checking the news on your phone. I think their mission Is to stop working on their own and start asking people how what they would want in a newspaper, that way they will gain customers. Newspapers should be targeting on old and retired people, because they are the people that have a lot of free time.

One people are starting to realize that the media manipulate their information and brainwash their readers. Two the Internet is a new and easier way to found out about what’s happening in the world so people are beginning to use it instead. They can start printing everything online and make people pay online. I like the idea and think that it will increase their revenue. I think that all newspapers in the world are eventually going to switch to only online use. The mission of newspapers should be to inform the people of the world what in reality is going on in the world no skew ness involved. They newspapers should focus their articles to all ages because teenagers don't enjoy reading the newspaper with its depressing and boring articles.

Printed journalism is shrinking as TV and Internet take over the news coverage, more cost effectively and efficiently. To increase their circulation, printed journalism have to do something what neither TV nor Internet can achieve to attract the readers. The new generation will not spend much time reading when they can easily read the news free on the web or watch its short summary on the TV. Capital Time’s new strategy is a very smart one, as it combines both print and non-print sources. Yet I believe that in the future printed journalism will not be used, and everything will be on the web. So this strategy will not long last. The mission of a newspaper should be what it always has been-to inform the public with unbiased facts and let them know of the world and government around them. As the core audience the newspaper should focus on world events and the people.

I see the cause for the shrinking circulation of newspapers as primarily the wide availability of news and easy access on the Internet. It is just easier to see things on the Internet, as entertaining as it might be to read it on paper. I honestly don’t think that there is much they can do to increase their print circulation, simply because the Internet is easier and more popular than most print sources. I think that Capital Time’s strategy is very smart in the fact that they are gradually making the transition from being a print source to being primarily on the Internet. I think that eventually, all newspapers will become obsolete, with some exceptions. This is however depending on the success of the Internet, and if it’s widespread popularity continues at the rate it is going now, than the demise of all print sources is almost certain. I think the mission of newspapers should be to follow in Capital Time’s example, and slowly change from being a print source to posting their articles o the Internet. Newspapers should focus on the middle-aged generation as their core audience, because these are the people who are going to live on and continue reading their material. Also, they have access to both the Internet and are familiar with print sources so there is a double benefit in that factor.

The shrinking circulation of newspapers is mainly due to other easily available sources. In order to increase the paper circulation, they should make their newspapers more interesting. For instance, it’d be a great idea to add more graphics. Another good way to attract customers would be offering some entertaining events regularly. I believe the Capital Times’ new strategy to combine to media wound definitely attract its customers. If the paper circulation continues to decrease, there won’t be any paper media any more. The mission of newspaper would be to survive in this era of mass media. In order to do so, newspapers should not focus on a certain group of audience, but they’ll have to draw wide range of audience.

Media is the cause for the shrinking circulation of newspapers. Who needs to buy newspapers when they can just get the same information for free online? They don’t need to increase their print circulation because then they’d be killing more trees. Newspapers are a waste of money and harm the environment, so what’s the point of having them around when we have the internet. I think that it would be a great idea for the Capital Times’ to combine Web-based and weekly print publications. People will stop buying newspapers around the world. And even though some people may lose their jobs, they’ll have the experience needed for the new jobs that will open on the web. The mission of the newspapers should be to sum up world news, entertainment news (sports), and local news. Newspapers should focus the elders as their core audience because they don’t have much experience with computers and it would be easier for them to pick up a newspaper and read than to get online and find the info.

Newspapers are shrinking because people care less about the world around them, and those that do care can get incredibly in depth news from a variety of online sources. I don't know what can be done to increase circulation, but certainly increasing journalistic integrity would help. Newspaper's secret weapon is that they have the resources to create much higher quality stories, but under allegations of biased reporting for commercial sponsors, some potential subscribers might feel uneasy about paying for journalism that might not be of the best integrity. I think the Capital Times' strategy of developing alongside technological advances is a good one. Hopefully, the media will get itself together and offer consumers top quality reporting and editorials, and maybe then they will see some consumers returning to them. Early reporting on the Iraq war, for example, was so terrible that it is no surprise that many members of the public, in search of better news reporting, turned to bloggers.

The shrinking circulation of newspapers most likely is due to the televising of the news. Many people own televisions, and in this day and age, televisions are becoming an everyday, and cheap, commodity. People love to hear what is going on, and they love it more when they have to spend less for it. Besides, news broadcasts offer live news, and more importantly, they dramatize their news broadcasts, making even the most boring occurance appear important; Where as a newspaper must appear objective or be accused of slander. To increase print circulation, firstly, they must lower the price of their newspapers, which could lead to them losing their profits, and secondly, to provide editorials about subjects that are sensitive, but to make those editorials interesting firestorms that spread accusations, or such things that will excite and entice the public. The public no longer is interested in the what the news is, but what it could be. I believe that the Capital Times' stratgey will lead them to ruin. They are scared, so they choose to be indecisive and try to splice their newspaper circulation between print and internet. It is foolish. You have to take a risk after much consideration, but to do both experiments, print and internet will be a waste of money. Further more, by investing in one, you are obstructing the flow of the other. If people are buying printed news, and you offer them a choice to read your online newspaper with every print, then they won't even bother to buy the printed version. I mean, why buy two of the same paper, right? I think that newspapers around the world, outside of the United States, will try this internet based news idea, but will ultimately fail, because of two factors. Outside cultures have tied reading printed newspapers as tradition or as a public standard, and secondly, most countries have poor internet connections or congested ones, not to mention government blocking of materials on the internet. The mission of these newspapers should be to deliver honest news, but unfortunately, to do such a thing would not sell newspapers. They would be too boring. And these newspapers should focus on the global masses as the core audience if they are to be on the internet, because the internet has become the global stage. What ever comes on there, the whole world can see.
